The Samurai S0710XX-Washi offers a fresh interpretation of the brand’s legendary 710XX fit, executed with a fabric concept that is unmistakably Japanese. This limited-release denim is woven from a 15oz selvedge cloth that blends traditional cotton with authentic washi paper fibers, creating a jean that feels remarkably light, breathable, and comfortable without sacrificing durability or character.

Washi, a material deeply rooted in Japanese culture, has long been prized for its strength, lightness, and resilience. By integrating washi fibers into the weft yarns, Samurai achieves a fabric with natural moisture control, fast drying properties, and excellent airflow. The result is a crisp, dry handfeel with a subtle cooling effect, making these jeans especially well-suited for all-season wear—even in warmer conditions where traditional heavyweight denim can feel oppressive.

The warp yarns are crafted from Samurai’s own extra-long staple cotton, rope-dyed in rich indigo. This premium cotton brings a smooth texture and refined sheen that contrasts beautifully with the airy, paper-infused weft. Over time, the denim will evolve dramatically, producing bold, high-contrast fades while gradually softening and gaining depth through wear.

The S0710XX-Washi is cut in Samurai’s classic 710 slim straight profile, featuring a mid-rise waist, balanced room in the thighs, and a subtle taper from knee to hem. The silhouette is clean and adaptable, working just as well with boots as it does with low-profile sneakers.

Construction details reflect Samurai’s uncompromising standards: custom-engraved metal buttons, jacquard-woven pocket bags, a selvedge-lined coin pocket, silver lamé selvedge ID, understated tonal arcuates, and a specially produced goatskin leather patch. Each pair is one-washed to ensure stability and consistent sizing, while still preserving the texture and character of unsanforized denim.

Fit Notes: This model runs slightly small, as is common with many Samurai Jeans releases. We recommend sizing up one from your usual size. Since the jeans have already been one-washed, no additional shrinkage should be expected.
