Unlike conventional white cotton, FOX COTTON retains its original, naturally rich color, eliminating the need for harmful bleaching or dyeing processes. From spinning to weaving, the yarns used in Earth Denim are minimally processed to preserve the cotton’s natural character.

• Slub Yarn: This variant combines nep yarn in the warp with brown cotton in the weft, weaving irregular knots of varying lengths, thicknesses, and shapes. The result is an incredibly rare selvedge fabric with a random, organic texture and a one-of-a-kind aesthetic.

FIT: Like all Samurai denim jackets, this style tends to run smaller than standard American sizing. Despite being lighter, the fabric has been tightly woven under high tension to achieve a stiff finish. This results in a firm texture and a strong vertical fade effect as it ages.

Shortly after the end of World War II, American soldiers stationed at the Yokosuka US military base in Japan sought unique ways to commemorate their service. They found a local tailor shop that specialized in intricate embroidery and began ordering custom items featuring oriental patterns along with the emblems of their respective units and bases. These embroidered pieces served as cherished mementos of their time and experiences in Japan.

One particularly notable creation from this era is a special jacket that has become a symbol of both cultural fusion and military history. The front side of the jacket boasts an exquisite embroidered illustration of the Seven Lucky Gods, which is part of an ambitious project celebrating the 45th anniversary of this tradition. The back side of the jacket features a vintage tour jacket motif, highlighted by a retro-style dragon. Introducing "Billiken-san," the symbolic deity of Osaka. This project is a collaboration between the Osaka-based brand "D'Artisan" and the iconic Billiken-san.

After World War II, American soldiers stationed at the Yokosuka US military base in Japan ordered embroidered souvenirs with oriental patterns, unit emblems, and base insignias from a local tailor shop. This practice is believed to have given rise to the "Sukajan" jacket.

The front of the jacket features a "NEW WORLD" tourism design with Billiken-san as the centerpiece, capturing the lively streets of Osaka along with its famous delicacies like takoyaki and kushikatsu. The back showcases a detailed OSAKA MAP, highlighting beloved symbols of the city such as Billiken, manzai comedy, and the spirited obachan (aunties).

Made with EMOT cotton, a blend of East Memphis, New Orleans, Texas cotton and finished with prima cotton which gives the jacket the brown/cream result we can all witness.

This model/cut has been inspired from a piece which was dig out from the gold mines in the Nevada desert, can you believe it? It was something the workers at the beginning of the 19th century were wearing. If you wanna compare it to a type one jacket you would see the pocket is placed lower and gives an idea on how old this reference can get.

This fabric is made by three different thickness yarn to have a vintage vertical fading and very unique “structured denim”. Each yarn is very slubby and it gets dipped into the indigo many times using the "rope dying" traditional technique.
Made with mixed Usa and Australian cotton with slightly low-tension weaving, the fabric was then sent out to Italy to get hand sewed by Holy Blue artisans in a small lab in the amazing Venice area.
