Made in Okayama, Japan, Holy Blue's second release was woven in the in a small family mill in Kojima. This denim fabric SB567-A-RBR was created on vintage shuttle looms handled by skilled craftsman, using only the best natural raw materials and dyeing the cotton yarn with pure indigo to weave the original denim using its vintage looms by hand. These old machines require technician's best maintenance all the time. It’s the key of vintage denim creation.
This fabric is made by three different thickness yarn to have a vintage vertical fading and very unique “structured denim”. Each yarn is very slubby and it gets dipped into the indigo many times using the "rope dying" traditional technique. Made with mixed Usa and Australian cotton with slightly low-tension weaving, the fabric was then sent out to Italy to get hand sewed by Holy Blue artisans in a small lab in the amazing Venice area.

A tapered fit with a higher rise, roomy thighs, and tapered legs. We have developed a black version of our retro fabric and we are quite excited about it. A super dense yarn meets ultra low tension weaving. The fabric has a nice amount of loom-shatter, a crisp surface, and a stunning deep black colour. We used a combination of Texas and Supima cotton that guarantees a very durable yarn yet a soft feel. We have experimented quite extensively with the cotton ratio for this one. This cotton combo holds the dye better which results in a deeper black. The stitching for this one is quite special: A variety of contrasting blue threads which really stand out.

Made from ID fabric, at 15oz and thanks to its loose weave, the denim is perfect for all seasons, and it is also our fastest fading fabric. The long stabled Texas cotton provides durability, yet is comfortable to wear. The slub yarn also adds the many irregularities this fabric is known for. The slubby knots on the surface will reveal their white core the earliest so you can enjoy the process even after minimal wear. The parts of the fabric we deem good enough to use for our denim rivals the best fabrics in the industry and delights our customers for both its intense texture and its great fading potential.
Made in Veneto, Italy, Holy Blue denim was woven in the historical mill of Berto in Bovolenta, and crafted by denim artisans in their laboratory in Piove di Sacco.This area, close to the city of Padova, is known as the birthplace of the world famous Italian denim. The Kone Nep denim is a precious fabric suitable for those customers that really see its value. All the fabrics are made by the old Picanol shuttle looms, original from the 1950’s, specifically restored and renovated by master craftsmen that brought them back and preserved their ancient processing techniques. These days the automation is widespread throughout cloth making industries but the real manufacturing of these fabrics is handmade: our looms, made of iron, cast iron, wood and leather are expertly used by skilled artisans. The artisan has a sort of relationship with his machinery: he knows all its peculiarities, its maintenance techniques and its sounds. Thanks to this handmade process the fabric is special: softness, color and appearance make them unique, with a soul, fit for unique and original clothes. Contingent irregularities and longer production methods, typical of a handcrafted product, but opposed to the industrial production, are not flaws: they are living proof of the products honesty.

Made from Ten (天) fabric, the denim stands for knotty and spotty, but also for the sky, which sums the characteristics of this slubby lightweight fabric perfectly. At 12.5oz, this super low tension fabric is extremely breathable without compromising on texture usually only to be found on denim a lot heavier. The combination of Texas cotton and Pima cotton for the warp and South American (Peru) cotton for the weft allow for some of the most irregular and textured denim that we have ever made. The density of the weft is a lot higher than the warp yarn which resulted in all the slub and hairiness we could hope for. Another important aspect of this fabric is the dye. While the warp yarn is rope-dyed in pure indigo, the horizontal threads of the weft demonstrate a light beige with the cheese dyeing method.

After developing a rope-dying method for our natural indigo fabric, which results in rich and intense shades of blue and contrasts which makes it very unique, we wanted to take things further. We created a cobalt blue weft with natural indigo. We created this rich blue by dipping the yarn into natural indigo with shorter exposures to oxygen which results in a lighter blue. The colour reminds us of the Tanuki blue that runs through all of our products: YURAI means source. The denim is rich in slub and fuzziness on the surface and thanks to the loose weave, the cobalt blue peaks through the surface which adds depths to the denim. The electric blue fades will be very unique. The banana and light beige stitching adds just the right amount of contrast to this fabric.

Rope-dyed by the only mill in Japan able to do this type of natural indigo fabric, and used special organic natural indigo from India that cannot be found anywhere else in the Japanese denim industry. This fabric is exclusive in many ways. Made with the low-tension weave, the denim is rich in slub and fuzziness on the surface to rival the beautiful blue of natural indigo.

We've reproducted a pair of jeans in reference to the one from the late 60's, the icon of which was the orange tab on the back pocket. As much respect to the original, we've made realized the following details.
Original orange tab, 7 belt loops,the seaming width for the lapping seam of 9/32 inch, the three-folded opening for the front pockets, the chain stitching on the back of the coin pocket and of the back pockets, and the triangle shaped stitches on the bottom corners of the back pockets by two-needle sewing.
The fabric is made of the cotton from the US, woven in the heritage way, leading to natural slubbiness. We've also paid a close attention to the dyeing. For this fabric, we've reproduced the slightly lighter indigo blue often seen in 60's without the singeing. The dyestuff does not include any sulfur ingredients so hat it's pure natural indigo dyed to perfectly reproduce the color from the days back then.
The fabric is woven with a little tention applied by vintage looms so that the surface looks bumpy here and there with much character.

Our most popular model : TCB 50's Jeans made in reverence of 50's vintage with the paper patch and we have modified the shape to a slimmer with a lower rise for those who prefer tight fit but want to enjoy the real vintage fades as much.
We've carefully studied a vintage piece TCB owns to every single detail from the shape to the yarn count for each seams. The fabric used is 13.5 OZ, made of Zimbabwe cotton. It has the natural unevenness such as unstable thread thickness and irregular tense on the fabric made by a vintage loom, not by the main stream methods of the computer regulation.
The fades start showing as white dots appearing in the beginning and then each dots will get connected together. As a result, it will show so beautiful vertical fades like the authentic vintage pieces.
When attaching the hidden rivets on the back pockets, we've adopted the most durable method out of many ways to do it. The paper patch is all sewn by hands. At around the timing when the fades start to look great, the patch starts to be torn apart, showing the dark blue from the inside.
As for the commitment to the reproducibility of the sewing methods, we payed the closest attention to it as the sewing factory from Kojima, Japan. We've picked up 4 different colors and 5 different yarn counts for the sewing yarns. The sewing width differs depending on where, of course we picked them up carefully. True to the vintage piece, including the setting and the adjustment of the vintage sewing machines.
When you look at the seams on the pocket bags, they used to be roughly sewn. To this sort of negative points, we did the same rough sewing on the pocket bags whilst keeping the durability there. So many hidden commitments here and there to be found as you wear and love this jeans.
